CELI: A Growing Clean Energy Network
During the five-month fellowship, cohorts meet one evening each week. There, working professionals from varying segments of the energy industry teach fellows about their specific area of expertise so that by the end of the five months, fellows have a granular understanding of the whole energy system.
Those teachers include experts from utility companies responsible for setting the electricity rates, Google personnel tasked with transitioning the tech behemoth to 100% clean energy, cleantech venture capitalists, and, amongst many others, public policy commissioners who set the regulations for the grid.

Stellar Community
After each week’s session, fellows get to know each other during a happy hour where they share information about their daily work and discuss ideas stemming from a mutual passion. As you can imagine, fellows often become good friends after many nights spent at local watering holes together.
The community is so strong that Shayle Kann, former head of Green Tech Media Research and current Managing Director of Energy Impact Partners, recently said, “It’s amazing to see what CELI has become. It’s the only cult I wish I was a part of”.
The people in the community are colloquially referred to as ‘CELIons’. Much of the value of the fellowship is forging bonds with folks at the forefront of their fields.
