Feeling the wind against your skin riding through the countryside, taking in all of nature’s shining glory. A ride on a motorcycle is an unparalleled experience that personifies freedom. And that freedom will soon go hand-in-hand with sustainability. Enter: the electric motorcycle.

The Harley Davidson LiveWire

Harley Davidson, the reigning king of motorcycles in the U.S., has been testing a pure electric model since 2014 but didn’t take any steps forward to bring it into production. But this year, the company announced that the LiveWire will become available for purchase in 2019.

Check out what riding a Harley Davidson LiveWire will feel like:

Zero Motorcycles

Another company has miles more experience than Harley producing silent and sustainable speeders. Zero Motorcycles out of Santa Cruz, California already manufacturers and sells zero-emission motorcycles in a handful of different models.

Some of Zero’s patrons include police officers in Californian cities including Clovis and Los Angeles. These quiet bikes offer a stealth advantage that the officers relish on patrol. “They’re so quiet you can sneak right up on someone in an alley selling drugs or doing anything else illegal”. (Fast Company)

At a price point ranging from $8,500 to $16,500, these sustainable motorcycles are all the more attractive.
