Watch out for these!

Here are just a few quick habits that could be damaging your self-esteem…

1. Negative Self Talk

I’ve talked about this multiple times but it’s so important you overcome this. You’ve got to stop putting yourself down all the time and think you’re not capable of doing anything. Like for example, you could think your sh*t at sports, but you have to understand that everyone was at one point, the difference between you and them is that they actually put in that work and effort to become better. It’s your job to take that same route. Never talk down on yourself, you're capable of achieving so many things in life but that can only happen if you truly believe in yourself.

2. Seeking Approval

The second habit is seeking approval. You don’t need anybody’s opinion or validation to change your mind. Stop overthinking every situation and just go to what you're comfortable with. If you are focused on what others think of you, your mental health will get worse and you won’t be able to live your life to the fullest. Your attempts to gain approval from others will only hold you back. There are times when it’s good to get the opinions of others, but you don’t need constant answers from everyone around you. Follow your heart, go with how you feel.

3. Seeking Perfection

The third one is seeking perfection. Nobody is perfect, constantly striving for perfection only sets an unattainable bar for yourself. Just as there are things in life you will be good at, so too will there be areas in which you struggle. Instead of setting unattainable expectations for yourself, accept that you will make mistakes. If you learn from those mistakes, you will grow stronger from those experiences.

Perfection does not exist, all you get are better improvements. Don’t try to reach a standard that does not even exist. Overtime you will continuously improve on whatever you're working on, so have some hope.
