The Importance of Mentality

The mind is everything. It controls the way you think, how you feel and how you act. It’s important that you control your mind in the right way, and in a way that will benefit your life. People consume so much negativity which is literally attacking your mentality. You have to control what enters and what leaves, so with these 3 tips, I will tell you how.

Rule #1: Don’t Consume Negativity

Negativity is the disease that attacks your mind. Negativity makes you feel like sh*t, it makes you overthink, it makes you doubt things, overall negativity affects us in a bad way and it’s important we stop that before it’s too late. The more negativity you allow to enter your mind, the more your mentality will get weaker and weaker.

If something bad happens, don’t focus on it. Focusing on the bad parts of your day rather than the positives is what's going to make you mentally weaker. You must always focus on what matters, even if the slightest good thing happened in your day, then you should be focusing on that. I understand that negativity is hard to overcome, but you have to make a choice, are you constantly going to dwell over it and allow it to defeat you, or are you going to find a way to overcome it and focus on what matters? It’s your decision.

Even though that negative thing might have hurt your feelings or leave a permanent mark in your mind, you must always remember that spending your life worrying and stressing about the bad things is not the right way to live. Sh*t happens, everyone suffers from their own problems, and nobody’s life is perfect. If you truly want to improve your mentality, you need to focus on the good parts of your day and ignore all the bad things that have happened.

Rule #2: Life Goals/Aspirations

If you want to improve that mentality, you need to test it. You need to figure out what it is in life you want to achieve, and you need to work from start to finish till you get the result you expect. Throughout your journey to success that mentality is going to get tested. You will experience a range of emotions. You will have times where you feel like quitting, where you overthink, and where you doubt your capabilities. This part of the journey is the part where so many people quit, so many people struggle to handle pressure and lack self-belief. That is literally an obvious sign that they have a weak mindset, therefore you must not be that person.

No matter how many times you fail or how many times you doubt yourself, you must keep pushing. If you want that mind to get stronger you need to survive the hardest parts of your journey to success. What I can say is that it won’t be easy, no matter what type of journey you partake in, you will struggle and you will have self-doubt, but during these moments, these are the moments where your mind is being tested, and in order for you to pass that test, you need to keep pushing. That is all you need to do, whenever you feel like giving up, simply don’t. It will be hard to do that, because us as humans will try and find reasons to quit, but you mustn’t do that.

If you start that journey you can’t go back. Throughout that journey your mentality is getting stronger day by day, but if you all of a sudden decide to completely quit, then all that progress you made mentally is going to crash down way lower than what you started with. Rule #3: Confidence

Confidence is so important. Having confidence opens up so many opportunities that will benefit your life. Confidence allows you to find relationships easier, make friends easier, achieve your goals easier, confidence is free and all you need to do to get some of it is to believe in yourself. Confidence comes from you, people can give you confidence and compliment you, but realistically, that confident journey starts by you believing in yourself.

To gain more confidence, you need to understand that life is too short to worry about how we look, how we're acting and how people judge us. Nobody wants to spend a lifetime stressing over the opinions of others. You need to understand that you need to make your life worth living. Whatever scenarios you create in your head, make that a reality. Go talk to that girl/boy go take some pictures, go out and have fun. There is no secret formula that is going to instantly boost your confidence, you just have to believe in yourself and start doing the things you were less confident of achieving.

Even if you face rejection or failure, don’t let that stop you. We all fail, not everything is going to go right, but if you keep trying, you will win. You can fail multiple times but you only need to win once. So keep trying, believe in yourself, forget about how you look, forget about the type of person you are, if you want to do something, go out and do it. You either start now, or you never do. Confidence is going to boost that mentality of yours and make it so much stronger. So if you ever find an opportunity, take it.
