7 Reasons You Should Fall In Love With Discipline
Have you ever wondered, what is the one thing that enables the most successful people to reach the pinnacle of anything, or what is the key that unlocks the door to a happy and fulfilling life?
The straightforward answer is:
Discipline
You may be surprised to know that often people who leave home, husbands & wives who seek a divorce, employees who leave their jobs and those who neglect religious obligations are simply trying to escape discipline.
In my view, the plight of modern man can be summed up in his ambition to tread on the road of self-indulgence and avoiding the life of discipline, sacrifice, and restraint. That is why jails and hospitals are overflowing in this day and age.
Here I will share with you 7 reasons why you should welcome discipline in your life.
1. Discipline Helps You Get Going in Difficult times
Suppose you want to become financially successful. You plan to start your own business. You are so inspired and motivated that you are going to become a successful businessman. You go to YouTube, subscribe to the channels of the most successful multi-billionaire businessman, and follow them on Instagram. Here is one thing which many of you forget that the people you are following on YouTube who you wish to look like have been working for a minimum of five years.
Anyway, you start a business, spend your savings or borrow money from somebody. You select a product, purchase it, and launch it in the market. You spend your time, energy, and money on marketing and even make good sales initially. Then life happens. A month later, you face sales drop for some reason. You get some negative feedback on your product. You start to lose the momentum and start doubting your business strategies.
It is make-or-break time. Many of you may get frustrated in such trying times and stop trying to pursue your goals. At this critical time, discipline comes to rescue you. If you are committed and dedicated, disciplining your life helps you surmount the hurdles rather than succumbing to them.
2. Discipline Helps You Grow to Your Maximum Potential
Ever pondered, all good things are upstream. When we waste time, it takes us a drifting which only brings us negativity, disappointment, and failure. So, failure is not a cataclysmic event but the result of a long list of accumulated little failings. You fail because you fail to think and act today. You fail because you fail to strive, climb, learn and keep trying day by day.
Discipline enables you to focus on what you can do today. When neglect tries to grab you by the throat and stall you on the path towards prosperity, discipline pushes you to stick with the plan.
3. It is an Incredible Creative Force
Imagine it is a foggy night, and you can only see 100 feet. Think how you can see another 100 feet. Of course, by walking the first 100 feet. Right? So, walk as far as you can so that you can see some more. What have you picked up here?
Yes, just do it now.
My friend, if discipline is an ugly word to you. It is high time to realize that discipline is the most powerful creative force. Discipline builds a career. Discipline develops good health.
Remember, you cannot produce incredible results without discipline. That is why we call architecture, music, sculpturing, painting, writing, and composing disciplines. Discipline is the open door to the creative process. There is no enterprise, no structure, no advantage, and no future without discipline.
4. It Gives You Sense of Achievement
Another major benefit of a disciplined life is that even the smallest effort towards your goal gives you a sense of achievement. It has an incredible effect on your attitude as you begin to feel good. You get rid of distractions, uncertainties, and confusion. You become more focused and a better decision-maker. Since your life gets structured, you improve your perspective on life.
5. It Puts You in The Right Direction
Discipline instantly puts you in the right direction that is vital for reaching your destination. Your destination may yet to come, but discipline will keep you on track. Now you are not controlled by your moods and whims but driven by your goals. By disciplining yourself, you adopt good habits and ditch bad ones. You are in charge now and less prone to addictions.
6. It lets you learn from Nature
In nature, you notice that everything strives to grow to its fullest point. For example, a tree strives to grow as tall as it can grow. So, all the things in nature strive to reach their natural potential. Similarly, discipline allows you to grow to your maximum potential gradually.
7. It attracts opportunities in your life
If you are disciplined, ambitious, and skilled, you will attract opportunities in your life. Your commitment will in action and intelligence bring you the life you desire.
How to Implement Discipline in Your Life?
Begin a new habit today, no matter how small it is. Just begin today. If you want prosperity, start a prosperity plan. If you wish to become wealthy, work on a wealth plan. If you are ill, work on a health plan. Start a new journey today. If you have an idea, today is the day to put it into action.
Today you are making these decisions, but in the future, these decisions will make you.
Conclusion
In short, discipline is a tried and tested recipe for success. Discipline is what we need most, but we want it least. So, if you wish to unlock all the doors of success, happiness, wealth, accomplishment, and joy, embrace discipline in your life.
