Brainstorming, Thinking & Decision Making:

The ability to generate ideas and take risks is a key element of brainstorming. Thinking is an important skill in business which is the ability to think outside the box and be creative.

Think about a time when you were struggling

to come up with a creative idea for your work:

What did you do?

Did you get help from someone or did you find a way around it?

Was there an opportunity that was missed because the person didn’t understand how creativity works?

The Decision Making Process —

Begins With Parts Of The Brain:

The left hemisphere deals in logic, language, and reasoning.

The right hemisphere deals in intuition, images, emotions, and musicality.

Brainstorming is great for generating lots of ideas and coming up with new solutions to problems. But you can’t make decisions based on ideas alone.

Brainstorming vs. Thinking:

When we brainstorm, we’re thinking with

our brains; when we think, it’s with our hearts.

Brainstorming is a group brainstorming technique that involves a group of people creating as many ideas as possible for a given topic or project.

Brainstorming is a type of creative problem-solving

that relies on the generation of ideas.

Thinking is a process of thinking about, reflecting on, organizing, and clarifying the thoughts and concepts that have been brought forth during brainstorming.

Thinking is a type of creative problem-solving

that relies on the step-by-step approach, of

breaking down large problems into smaller ones.

The difference between brainstorming and thinking can be described as seeing with your head vs. seeing with your eyes.

Making Choices vs. Justifying Decisions:

There are differences between making choices

and justifying decisions.

When you are making a decision you might not be able to think of any other options.

This is where justifying decisions comes into place. This is where you justify why you made certain decisions for your business.

Making choices should be based on personal values rather than what you think other people will approve of. If your decision is to take a risk, then there should be some benefit — even if the outcome is uncertain.

Final Thoughts — Let’s Compare Them:

Brainstorming is great for generating lots of ideas and coming up with new solutions to problems. But you can’t make decisions based on ideas alone. You need to know which ones are the best and which ones will work best for your company or product.

Thinking goes beyond just coming up with ideas and exploring them further. It looks into how they can be refined into something practical by looking at what works and what doesn’t work from a broader perspective.

Making choices is a stressful activity, so making the right ones sometimes seems impossible. But when it comes to justifying decisions, it can be done in a quick and easy way. Making choices and justifying decisions are two different things that help businesses succeed in their goals.
