Now — I’m Back On Track!
Omicron Stopped Me From Writing In 2022
The end of last year — 2021 — I had a plan.
I was publishing daily, sometimes more than once and had a system. I published every day, even when things slowed down at the end of year — that did not stop me.
I Did Not Realize That I Would Start My 2022 With A Bang!
Omicron Made Me Stop & Put My Life On Hold!
It is all about life and your perspectives. I am a very healthy person, exercise several times a day and do not eat processed foods. I cannot remember the last time I was sick before this!
When I heard about the new variant,
I did my best to avoid it.
However, some things are meant to happen. I had to put my 98 year old mother in a nursing home last year. In December, they notified everyone that there was an outbreak there.
That was not going to stop me from visiting her several times a week, as she needs to see me. We were separated for over a year with no visitations.
I was not going to let a virus stop me!
When I started feeling sick — I was not sure if I had a cold, the flu or Omicron. I teach online, so I tried to continue my work schedule. I felt like I had been hit by a much greater force. I had to cancel appointments which was frustrating.
I am a positive thinker. I imagined my immune system fighting all those little coronas. I slept so much — which is the best way to recover from anything you might have.
I am not going to bore you with all my symptoms, but once I realized that I had 10 of the 12 most popular symptoms, it was obvious to me that I had it.
I waited a few more days, went to get tested by an Urgent Center. I had my confirmation, I was positive.
The doctor was in shock! I was happy — I was happy that I knew that I had it, my immune system was doing it’s job, and I was on the road to recovery.
Writing Was The Last Thing On My Mind
I Could Not Even Get Started!
I really don’t know why. I had quite a few articles that I was working on, but my brain was on a rest and recover mode. My creativity was at a standstill.
My brain was on a sabbatical!
Looking back now, I realize that all my efforts were on my health, mental, physical, spiritual. Other that continuing a much slower work schedule, my focus was on sleep.
Sleep is a miracle! Sleep is an amazing way to help your body recover. I had pushed myself so much at the end of last year. Now I realize I had been really very sleep deprived and worn myself out.
For me, this Omicron virus was not the horrible thing that some people have experienced.
It has made me appreciate rest and my body a whole lot more.
As soon as I started feeling a little better — I started stretches and exercises to get more circulation and healing to my body.
Final Thoughts:
January Was An Interesting Adventure!
A Complete Change Of Focus — But Now I’m Back On Track!
I texted my friends and family, told them what happened. Most of them either had it, or knew of others who did.
A few weeks later, so many more have it. It does not matter whether you are vaccinated or not. Omicron does not discriminate.
I am not vaccinated, for many reasons. I have many allergies to chemicals, and my body is really good at fighting infections.
I am a proud member of the COVID club.
I now have natural immunity — herd immunity.
This is much more powerful than any drug.
