Your Plans Won’t Always Work — But That Shouldn’t Make You Stop Going
When plans don’t work, change them so they will
I had planned my life around graduating from the most prestigious engineering school in my country. I had planned it all — how I wanted my life to go. But nothing went as planned. My life isn’t how I envisioned it.
Is it better? I don’t know.
But I can tell you I’m grateful for everything I’ve got now. I’m fortunate for the way my life turned out. Do I regret not getting into the most prestigious engineering school in my country?
There was a time when I used to do. But that was a long time ago.
I don’t regret it anymore. If anything, I feel fortunate and grateful. Because regrets hold you back. You can only live life forward. Regretting about your past actions will affect your future life.
I know this now.
Back then — when I couldn’t pass the entrance exam — I thought my life’s over. When I couldn’t find my name on the list of the students who passed the entrance exam, I searched it again and again.
I looked every way one could. But no matter how many times you try to search your name in a list that doesn’t have it, you won’t find your name in it.
