Clearpool is thrilled to reveal details of its new staking model, which will revolutionize how the protocol operates and empower its community to actively participate in governance decisions. The new mechanism ensures that every CPOOL token holder now has a voice while unlocking the ability for large institutions to enter the Clearpool ecosystem and shape its future direction.

Introducing gCPOOL: The Gateway to Community Governance

Through the new staking model, users will have the opportunity to stake their CPOOL tokens on the Clearpool protocol and receive gCPOOL tokens in return. These gCPOOL tokens will grant holders the ability to officially propose and participate in governance voting to shape the protocol across key areas such as tokenomics, revenue model, interest rate parameters, borrower onboarding, and CPOOL buybacks.

Unlocking Greater Demand for CPOOL: Empowering Institutional Participants in Clearpool’s New Staking Model

Clearpool’s new staking model not only amplifies the influence of institutional participants in shaping the ecosystem but also fuels demand for the CPOOL token. In the current staking mechanism, Clearpool Oracles were limited to only being able to vote on interest rate parameters. However, with the new staking model, we have removed barriers and opened doors for large institutional participants to play a pivotal role in steering the direction of Clearpool’s future. This watershed moment benefits not only institutions seeking to enter DeFi but also the entire CPOOL community.

We have established essential guidelines to ensure that proposals have the best interests of the Clearpool ecosystem in mind. To create an official governance proposal, users must hold a minimum amount of 1,000,000 CPOOL, enhancing both utility and demand. This requirement not only drives demand but also promotes a more robust and engaged ecosystem. Additionally, to pass a governance vote, a quorum of 25,000,000 CPOOL must be attained, further reinforcing the utility and influence of the token.

Clearpool already boasts a thriving ecosystem with a wide range of institutional participants, including current borrowers Fasanara Capital, Portofino Technologies, Wincent, Auros, Alphanonce, and Manifold. Additionally, the ecosystem includes 13 institutional Clearpool Oracles, which are a diverse range of borrowers, lenders, and experts in the DeFi credit sector, including Amber Group, Apollo Capital, Azure Tide, BCW Group, Credora, Folkvang, Hex Trust, Idle Finance, M11 Credit, Ryze Labs (previously Sino Global Capital), Skynet Trading, and Wintermute.

Join the Clearpool Governance Forum and Shape The Future

We have launched the Clearpool Governance Forum on our Discord Server to facilitate discussions and idea generation. This platform serves as a space for stakeholders to propose ideas and improvements and discuss ongoing proposals. Your engagement and input in this forum will be instrumental in enhancing the Clearpool ecosystem.

Next Steps: New Staking Mechanism, First Proposals, and Official Governance Votes

Once the new staking mechanism is live, all users need to unstake their CPOOL tokens from the current one and restake them in the new version to receive their gCPOOL tokens. Rest assured, staking rewards will continue to be earned in the new staking mechanism.

Following the launch, we will commence the first official governance proposals. The process includes proposal submission and discussions, a ‘temperature check’ review period, and voting via the platform Snapshot.

Clearpool’s Commitment to a Community-Driven Future

Clearpool is dedicated to building a vibrant and inclusive community that actively contributes to the growth and development of the protocol. Stay tuned as we unveil more updates about the governance framework and the launch date of the new staking mechanism. In the meantime, join the Governance Forum to propose and discuss your ideas for when the first official proposals can be launched.
