A ClearQuote Case Study : Popular Hyundai

ClearQuote uses images and videos to identify and assess damages cars. This is a case study of how Popular Hyundai, a large authorized dealergroup of Hyundai in India uses ClearQuote in their After-Sales business, specifically body and paint repairs.

This case study is split into 3 parts -

  1. The user, and the problem that needed to be solved.
  2. How does ClearQuote work? Deploying the solution, and the targets set by the team.
  3. ClearQuote’s data reporting features and benefits.

Part 1

The User

Popular Hyundai is the largest Hyundai dealer group in Kerala with 30 showrooms and 28 service centers spread across the state. The company prides itself on incorporating latest technologies in the pursuit of enhancing the customer’s experience.

A pursuit which has won the company multiple awards for service excellence on a national as well as international level.

The Problem

Like all automobile dealerships, Popular Hyundai wanted to solve the following problems -

  1. How to offer customers standardized and transparent body-repair estimates? and
  2. How to increase body shop revenues and conversions?

When you take a closer look at these problems more questions come to light -

  1. How do we generate more standardized estimates?
  2. How can service advisors, who lack body shop expertise, be equipped to generate these standardized estimates?

To address these problems, Popular Hyundai deployed ClearQuote at their service centers.

Part 2

How does ClearQuote work?

ClearQuote is a mobile responsive web app that runs on Google Chrome and can be used on any device — PC, iPad, smartphone. There is no requirement for downloading an app.

All that service advisors needed to do was login to the ClearQuote app and use it to capture images of vehicles that were brought into the service reception. The advisor could walk around the vehicle and capture images various body panels. And once the images are uploaded, an estimate is generated almost instantaneously based on the assessment of the images.

This also became an efficient way to capture the condition of a vehicle at the service reception.

Goals Achieved

Equipped with ClearQuote, the service advisors at Popular Hyundai dealerships were able to successfully achieve these goals -

  1. Generate standardized repair estimates.
  2. Share estimates with customers — instantly!
  3. Transparent estimates and better customer experience.
  4. Ultimately increasing conversions.
