We can get this car fixed Mr PM
You would have read the news — a few days go Bo-Jo’s XJ L Sentinel got rear ended by one of the security Range Rovers when a protester got in front of the convoy.
When he got out of the car and saw the damage this would have been the reaction (if he’d had to pay out of his own pocket). However it’s the tax payer that has to foot the bill.
So we thought we could help them get the job done.
The good folks at Axioma who help fix all kinds of crash damages, and we at ClearQuote decided to evaluate what it would cost to get this car fixed.
We analysed all the publicly available images of the damaged car using ClearQuote app and this is what we found.
ClearQuote analyses images of cars to assess extent of damage using computer vision and with the help of Axioma’s extensive database of repair estimates, generates an estimate for fixing the damage on a car (in the UK).
It was fairly obvious that the tail gate assembly was beyond repair — needed a replacement. Approximate cost £2840 to replace.
The rear bumper had a dent too which required replacement. Approx cost £1144 to replace.
In addition it is likely to require some work on the quarterpanels (left and right). Thankfully the tail lamp assemblies were analysed to be undamaged and so was the rear windshield.
The final quote came out at about £3700 — £4200.
Axioma would be happy to send one of their trusty repairers out to Downing Street, pick up the car and have her back in just a couple of days.
BoJo would be back on the road in no time, and the British taxpayer would be reassured that Clearquote’s AI is keeping a watchful eye on costs (I mean we do have planes to refurbish!)

What we havent been able to do is to estimate the cost of repair for the Range Rover that actually rear ended the XJ L. We couldnt get hold of decent footage of the security vehicle to show the frontal damage it would have met with. Thats for another day.
