Andrew Peppard, Vice President, Tolling Business Development

New York, NY, October 8th, 2021 — On the heels of its 2021 Seed round, “ClearRoad is making a big splash in an industry that could use a good shakeup,” says CEO Frederic Charlier. “We’re thrilled to add Andrew, who brings an unparalleled track record of strategic, delivery, and commercial success delivering digital tolling solutions. This will be invaluable as ClearRoad expands its footprint into the app-based tolling, road usage charging, and mobility wallet markets.”

Most recently, Peppard supported, since conception, the market-leading toll app Uproad, where he served as a Director. Through his cutting-edge work at Uproad and wide-ranging tolling experience around the country with Kapsch TrafficCom, he has developed strategic knowledge on how to move the industry forward, from commercial, deployment, and operation perspectives.

Peppard has long been inspired by the many technology opportunities within the toll industry since coming out of the engineering program at Southern Methodist University. Early in his tolling career, he was commissioned on a groundbreaking project to design and build a future toll tag combining RFID, solar panels, and other innovative sensors & technologies to allow for long verifiable occupancy detection for tolling agencies.

Peppard, who is based in Austin, said: “ClearRoad is at the forefront of building and deploying the technology capable of changing how revenue is collected for agencies and DOTs. Through our tech and lightweight approach, we can help bring this industry into a new sustainable future for both the economy and the environment.”

In addition to Peppard, ClearRoad has added long-time toll industry veteran Larry Yermack to the company Board. Yermack is best known as the founder and instigator behind the E-Zpass Interagency Group, now the world’s largest electronic tolling system. Throughout his career, he has advised and led on tolling technology for market leaders including PB, TransCore, and CUBIC, and held leadership roles in New York City & State government, including the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. Larry is the former Chair of the Board for ITS America, and an honorary IBTTA member. Larry received his BA in Economics from the City University of New York and his MBA from Columbia University.
