Talk YANA Podcast 🎙
Sharing the stories of those suffering in silence and also alone..
I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast for a while now, sharing stories of those suffering with mental health in silence; getting their voices heard.
I delayed and pondered the idea of ths podcast due to not having all the “essential" equipment to make a quality podcast. But after watching a few of Gary Vaynerchuk instagram videos about 2019, is the time to start now, regardless the quality or having all the best equipment; just make content upon content!
I researched how to make podcast on your mobile and found a few apps but anchor stood out, its easy, quick and great to navigate and has tons of amazing features such as being able to talk to someone else without them being there (actually tried this, so cool!) and distributing your podcast content to about 10 of the best audio platforms such as Spotify and Apple itunes amongst many others.
I’d definitely recommend anchor if you want to create a podcast.
So after quickly becoming a pro at the anchor app, I created my first podcast — the Talk YANA Podcast which was an intro to what the podcast is all about and my plans for it going into the future.
No slowing there, was very pleased with the first podcast so decided to make 2 more episodes which 1 just got released and another yet to come out. These 2 podcasts are segment of My Story, where I share my personal story of my past, growing up back in Croydon, London, UK, where my depression stemmed from and leaving home in London and moving to Sheffield, UK.
In these two episodes they become really deep, going in depth about experiences and mentioning things I’ve never told anyone, as well as this somethings maybe distressing sorry to warn you.
Over the last 2 years, I’ve learnt to be more open and share my truth with those around me but also those who follow me on my social media platforms. In doing so I hope to help others going through similar mental health experiences to share their story and know that they aren’t alone and you no longer need to suffer in silence.
YANA (You Are Not Alone) was created to share the stories of those who suffer with a mental health illness in silence and get their stories and voices heard.
Hopefully this helps at least one person.
*Note: I’m not a mental health professional; I just share my story, my truth whilst suffering with severe depression, anxiety and ptsd*
