Project update 20 September

While we were unable to undertake the waterproofing operation last week as planned, we were still busy with many other aspects of the renovation.

Over the course of the works, we have been installing anodes into the concrete structure. These anodes will reduce the effect of corrosion on the metal reinforcement within the concrete parts of the bridge. New ladders have been installed to give safer access to the internal inspection chambers within the bridge, while the anchor bolts which retain the structural elements were inspected and re-painted.

The delayed waterproofing and resurfacing operation should take place from today (Monday 20 September), but as always with weather sensitive operations plans can change and we will keep people up to date if we have to change plans.
