PR in the fragmented, digital world is often measured in impressions; how much media coverage did the brand get? How much reach did that coverage drive for the brand?

But how much that coverage resonates with audiences is an important piece of the puzzle –and one that can be a little trickier to define.

In order to find out which fashion brands are turning heads this season, we turned to our usual methods of madness; examining who is capturing the biggest share of audiences’ attention online.

We analyzed stories published between January 01 and February 08, 2015 about the following companies and looked at how many page views per story each garnered, looking for how interested audiences really are when these brands appear in the press.

Here’s how the rankings shake out:

The Back Ordered Bean Boot

L.L. Bean probably isn’t the first brand to jump to mind when you think of “fashion,” but there’s no denying the Maine retailer has both an iconic “look” in the Bean Boot and a hold on people’s attention at the moment. The two converged when news of a Bean Boot shortage broke and the Internet wondered aloud “what could be worse?” in what’s turned out to be another tough winter.

It’s fun to think about why the other brands in the Top 10 ranked so high as well. Calvin Klein’s Justin Bieber campaign? Nothing says you’re of-the-moment like an SNL spoof. And Christian Louboutin seems to be the toast of the high-end luxury crowd, with glowing celebrity endorsements from the likes Scandal star Kerry Washington.

We’ll update this list when the next Fashion Week series rolls around and see which brands are still keeping audiences interested in what they’re up to.
