Night sky photography can be a blast.

Whether taking photos of a galaxy of stars or twinkling lights on a full moon, Night sky photography can be an experience of a lifetime. The solitude and patience of astrophotography are what makes it so awesome.

It can be a little overwhelming at first, but once you nail your first shot, I can almost guarantee that you’ll be hooked forever.

But then why can it be so overwhelming?

As a professional photographer, this is something that I had struggled with for a long time, as It can be stressful for a wide variety of reasons Most of which center around the fact that it’s very different from daytime photography. Forget about autofocus. Forget about your flimsy tripod. Forget about your 55mm lens that you use for every shot. Even after reading other articles online about what you need, you still need to take time to find the perfect night to get the stars you need for the perfect shot.

That is why in this article, we are going to go over general advice for taking pictures of the starry night sky. With these tricks for the skies, I hope that you can capture the beautiful photos you’re wanting.
