7 Great Books For Nature Lovers

For a solid period of these last lockdowns, I was only reading nature-themed books. These are my top seven picks from my now-overladen bookshelf.

Fiction, non-fiction — and one, unclassifiable wonder that I especially enjoyed — these books would sit perfectly under the Christmas tree.

The Overstory

My second favourite read from this period, I burnt a lot of midnight oil to devour this fantastic book.

The Overstory tells the tale of nine Americans from various walks of life as they struggle to save California’s giant redwoods from the woodcutter’s axe.

It’s equal parts thriller, ode to nature, ecology 101, and character-driven drama of the highest calibre.
