Here’s Why Bill Gates’ “Solutions” to Climate Change are Utterly Foolish
We can’t save ourselves without dismantling capitalism
Bill Gates is one of the most privileged people on the planet. He’s the fourth wealthiest, behind Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Bernard Arnault. He’s amassed a total of $129 billion.
He’s clearly winning at the game of capitalism. During the pandemic alone, a time of volatility and decline for most people on the planet, his massive wealth has grown by a whopping 33%.
Since he’s excelling so well at capitalism, it’s prudent that he would want to preserve our current system, right?
Well, in February of this year, he released his manifesto delineating how we can tackle climate change while maintaining the gravely unjust status quo. The book is called “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need.”
Spoiler alert — the book doesn’t advocate any real “breakthroughs.” The “solutions” it proposes range from unrealistic to foolish to downright dangerous.
