Inside a world of beautiful faces

The lovely words and friendly graces

Firm handshakes and graceful smiles

Are the people with demon eyes.

She is on road to go to the market

But around are peoples’ inside

Wolf’s heart and sheep’s blanket

And the acid bottle lies beside.

On a speedy bike

coward throws acid on her face

A beautiful shopping day

Is now a painful dark night.

The enemy ran away

She cried in pain

But for society,

She is to blame even today.

Her soul is hurt,

Face is burnt

She faces discrimination.

Fortunately, she is a night raven

She survives the battle.

She recollects, she fights the daily societal barks,

She thrives

Like a dolphin in a sea of sharks.

She sailed her ship through storms

Throttling the mental societal worms

Her spirit stands tall

And she becomes Reshma Qureshi and Laxmi Agarval.
