World Immunization Week— Are you protected?

Are you and your family getting all the vaccines you need? Many people aren’t and vaccines save lives.
Vaccines are among the most powerful innovations in the history of humankind. Around the world, 1 in 5 children misses out on immunization. And in a year, 1.5 million across the world die from preventable diseases like Diphtheria, Tetanus, Measles and other preventable diseases. Millions of adults are not protected against killer diseases like Hepatitis.
Middle-income countries by 2030 are expected to not only save lives but also prevent 24 million people from falling into poverty due to health expenses. Up to 3 million lives are saved every year, thanks to safe and effective vaccines but there are still millions of children worldwide who don’t receive these basic lifesaving medications and have never been immunized.
We must not tolerate a world in which a child dies from a disease that can be easily prevented with a low-cost vaccine. Immunization is a building block of strong primary health care. It is also vital to achieving Sustainable Development Goals even those not that are not directly related to health vaccines.
World Immunization Week is an opportunity to call for increased immunization coverage globally to ensure everyone, everywhere is protected together. Governments must invest in vaccines and the health systems that deliver them, it means advocates and health workers must continue to make immunization a priority.
ClinicSpots is raising awareness so that every child everywhere is vaccinated on time, every time. Let’s be protected together. Let’s support a world free of vaccine-preventable diseases and achieve full immunization worldwide.
