Who We Are
Cliophilia is a Medium publication dedicated to the study and writing of history in all of its forms. We’re pretty inclusive, and we’ve published pieces dealing with all aspects of history, from cinematic adaptations of historical events to book reviews, from lists of the badass women of antiquity to a history of gender and sexuality in Cold War America. Take a look around the publication to get a sense of the sorts of things that we’ve published in the past.
What We’re Looking For
We’re always looking for smart, accessible writing that brings a love of history to a broad audience. If you decide to submit, your story should follow these guidelines:
- Include a featured image (be sure to find one that is royalty-free). Be sure to credit it, as well.
- Include a title and subtitle that accurately captures the essence of your piece (without veering into clickbait territory).
- Be longer than 3 minutes.
- Include one of the following tags: History, Culture, Society.
- Be free of spelling and grammar errors. Also, feel free to make use of Medium’s formatting tools to create a piece of writing that is not only fun to read but pleasing to look at.
