The novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, created a global pandemic and public health crisis that is affecting college students around the world. As a response, we launched Spring Madness in hope of serving as a resource for collegiate creatives during the novel period that the world is currently in.

“Creatives are always working to better themselves and their craft. This campaign seeks to do just that by providing them with ways to take their talents to the next level while off-campus or disengaged from social activities and get recognized for their talents. CLLCTVE is continually looking to develop collegiate creative talent in fresh and dynamic ways.”

– Founder and CEO of CLLCTVE, Kelsey Davis

Spring Madness consisted of multiple components, including a virtual competition, live workshops, and a community for creative-minded college students despite being off-campus.

Art of Finesse Live Workshops

Creatives interested in honing their skills were able to tune into creative workshops via Instagram Live every Wednesday from March 25 — April 17. The live workshops covered topics such as prioritizing self-care, job searching during the pandemic and learning how to protect your brand. The workshops were hosted by various creatives including artists, Natalie Lauren Sims, Ashley Williams Esq. of Unorthodox Legal, and job matching company, RippleMatch.

Virtual Competition

Participants entered and competed by visiting the Spring Madness webpage and submitting a one-minute video explaining what makes them a creative and how they can benefit from CLLCTVE’s platform. Contestants had to submit two examples of their work and follow CLLCTVE on Instagram. After weeks of submissions and judges deliberating, we finally have our grand prize winner and notable honorees.

Lloyd Ansah

He is a rising senior at Syracuse University and a singer-songwriter hailing from Ghana by way of Queens.

“As Humans we are always presented with deciding factors, issues and scenarios we simply must accept. We are rarely given the opportunity to control an outcome. Singing allows me to do that.” — Lloyd Ansah
