Direct to consumer (DTC) brands have become a place where Gen Z creators and influencers can showcase their talents and help market incredible products that others their age would appreciate and purchase. Five food and beverage companies, in particular, are taking Gen Z talent to the next level, utilizing their creativity, skills, and knowledge of their generation to establish a powerful image and promote great marketing campaigns. Let’s check out what they’re doing in 2021 to change the game!

1. Magic Spoon

Taking something we loved as children, making it healthy (but still delicious), and marketing it in the most colorful and childlike way possible is this subscription-based cereal brand’s strategy. Magic Spoon was founded by two Gen Zers hoping to bring some of that sugary magic back to breakfast time without packing on the calories, and they can do it: “Happiness 100% guaranteed.” It is clear their social media accounts and website are run by Gen Z creators, with young, fashionable models, familiar slang across all platforms, and action photography that wows with bright colors. With endorsements from young influencers and personalized orders, Magic Spoon is scooping up new fans day after day, allowing the Gen Z style to lead the way.

2. Hippeas

What do you get when you cross the 1970s with Gen Z art styles? You get the Hippeas! Finding a healthy snack with a satisfying crunch just got easier with Hippeas’ groovy chips and puffs. They come in various flavors, which Gen Z graphic designers make very clear with their bright, color-coordinated images and their promotional video, which takes you back to the 1970s with a Gen Z twist. You can also find a blog on their website with Gen Z writers channeling their inner comedian while also marketing the company’s incredible products. Their website and social media have the perfect mixture of the 70s and Gen Z slang that will have you smiling while opening your wallet, which is precisely the plan. Peace out!

3. Banza

Want to know what Anna from Frozen eats for dinner? Look no further than Banza! Endorsed by Kristen Bell and other young influencers, Banza markets healthy meals for the busy bee, which tends to be the trend with most Gen Zers nowadays. From pizza to pasta to the infamous mac n’ cheese, Banza takes the guilty out of pleasures and provides helpful tips to create a meal you can be proud of. With the tips and tricks being written by Gen Z writers and cute animated chickpeas made by Gen Z graphic designers, their website is fun, informative, and perfect for making dinnertime a little less scary and calorie-inducing.

4. Liquid IV

With the COVID-19 pandemic still raging across the world, everyone is looking for ways to boost their immune system and help those in need. Now you can do both at the same time with Liquid IV! Focusing heavily on the Gen Z desire to make the world a better place, when you purchase one of their flavored, vitamin-filled powder sticks, they also make sure someone in need gets one too. Liquid IV also uses the most sustainable packaging methods possible, assuring you that they are taking care of the Earth’s health just as much as they’re taking care of yours. The technology used to create these incredible and tasty concoctions is explained the Gen Z way: with infographics and drawings that make what they do and how they do it crystal clear. Like Hippeas, Liquid IV also has a blog sustained by incredibly talented Gen Z writers, who provide advice, top five, and other fun articles for fans of the brand to enjoy along with their refreshing drink.

5. Olipop

Like Magic Spoon, Olipop makes soda fun to drink again without all the calories bubbling up inside. Founded by two Gen Zers, it is clear their message on social media goes beyond just their product. Their Instagram is filled with team bonding meals and events (pre-COVID) that highlight the Gen Z employees and their talent and demonstrate a healthy work environment that matches their healthy product. It is essential to know that the company is coming from the same good place that their product is. Gen Z writers bring Buzzfeed-style quizzes and infographics to several social media platforms, which only adds to their brightly colored, contemporary-styled photography. This brand makes you want to sit down, pop open a can, and take a quiz to find out which flavor you should order next.

These are just five of the many up-and-coming companies partnering with Gen Z talent to create unique and eye-catching graphics for their healthy products. 2021 will be another year of growth for Gen Z creators, and we are so excited to see what happens! So take a sip and grab a bite to eat. We’ve got work to do!
