DeFi Summer was an incredible time to be a crypto fan. Throughout 2020, thousands upon thousands of new users, traders, builders, and enthusiasts found their way into the blockchain industry. And at its peak, it seemed as if everyone was releasing their own crypto or NFT project.

But therein lay the problem. All of these projects promised the moon, but all they delivered was stardust. Even some of the most successful NFT mints have yet to deliver on the utility and features they promised three years later.

With all of the broken promises and scams, most critics have tried to say NFTs are dead. But, that’s where the NFT community has proven them wrong.

NFTs are still going strong despite a bear market and all of these struggles. That’s because we truly believe NFTs have a big part to play in blockchain technology, now and in the future.

For us, these hard times have taught us a valuable lesson. Don’t promise something if you can’t deliver. We’ve taken this to heart, which is why we’ve spent the last year developing a project that delivers first, and promises later.

Then we took it a step further. We developed a project that adds features to other NFT projects, regardless of absent devs and broken promises because that’s what the NFT community deserves.

So without further ado, we’re excited to introduce you to Clopr and the future of external utility.

What is Clopr?

Clopr aims to take on one of the biggest criticisms NFT projects receive — a lack of utility and usability. But rather than just developing NFTs with built-in utility and functionality, our NFTs were made to interact with other projects.

There are plenty of incredible projects out there with dedicated communities and passionate fanbases. CryptoPunks, Invisible Friends, BAYC, CloneX, and Azuki, just to name a few. So rather than creating a competing NFT, we decided to flip the script and design something that could complement these existing projects.

This is where the idea of external utility began.

The Clopr project is all about storytelling. Every NFT is unique with its own attributes and characteristics, and that ultimately decides its rarity. But what if we were able to take that to the next level, and give each NFT its own unique story?

That’s where the CloprBottle NFT comes in. The CloprBottle is an NFT that contains potions. The first of these is the StoryPotion which can be used on other NFTs to mint a Story NFT. Once minted, the Story NFT belongs to the NFT it was used on. These Story NFTs are unique tokens that tell a story about your NFT. They are made up of 6 fragments, each revealed upon drinking a StoryPotion.

This not only adds new utility to existing NFTs but also introduces the CloprBottle as a limited resource that can be used to enhance other NFTs. There will only be a limited number of CloprBottles in existence. However, they have the ability to be refilled, putting the owners of CloprBottles in a unique situation with the power to enjoy external utility.

So what do you think? Are you ready to discover the story behind your NFT? Join the Clopr Discord to get the latest alpha and for a chance to take the rarity of your NFTs to an entirely new level! Or take a look at our whitepaper for more information on what’s to come.
