The first in a series of resources for where to donate clothes locally in your community. Starting with our hometown for Closet Minimal: Portland, Oregon.

Reminder: Please wash all your gently used, proud to be worn again, clothes before you drop them off for donation.

Dress For Success, Oregon

The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

What

  • Women’s professional attire
  • Freshly cleaned, on hangers or folded neatly
  • Modern and classy
  • Free from make-up stains, deodorant stains, and any rips or holes

Cat Adoption Team (CAT) Thrift Store

Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donations to our Thrift Store may be tax deductible. Proceeds from all sales support the CAT’s programs and services for cats and people. Your donations make a difference and are greatly appreciated!

Northwest Children’s Outreach

We stand in the gap between poverty and caring agencies with resources to help children. We function as a collection and distribution center, collecting resources for these children and distributing the goods to local care providers who meet directly with and prescreen the children.

Freecycle, Portland

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 5,317 groups with 9,199,302 members around the world, and next door to you. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighborhoods. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers (them’s good people). Membership is free.

Freecycle is an option if you don’t need the tax deduction for your donation, but still want to make sure your clothes end up being used and not just tossed into a landfill.
