🎉 The Closet On The Cloud is at its 10th newsletter! 🎊

Here is a rundown of what my favourite piece of learning was in each issue ♥️

1.ISSUE #1 (Monday, July 20): Fashion has a new friend 👭

Via: The Shorts Drawer

👉 The idea that such an invisible virtual visualization of Fashion could democratise runways, shifting focus on the garment and reducing biases backstage. This one is via Hanifa.

Not to mention, the ability to watch how any garment takes to each unique body. WOW.

2. ISSUE #2 (Monday, July 27): Smile! You’re on camera 📷

Via: The Enthusiast’s Guide

👉 I realised that Facial Recognition Technology is a threat to privacy, but oh my god, Fashion Designers across the world have come up with creative solutions that defer it. This headscarf is decorated with faces intended to confuse algorithms (by Sanne Weekers).

3. ISSUE #3 (Monday, August 03): You’ve Been Bamboozled! 🎆

Via: The Big Upload

👉 With Burberry’s new Social Retail store, I finally learned what the concept meant, which led me to realise, with the perfect “phygital” experience, there’d be no lag in the consumer journey, meaning higher conversion & better engagement.

4.ISSUE #4 (Monday, August 10): Turn around! Your closet thinks its Raj from DDLJ! 😏

Via: The Big Upload

👉 Not sure what I was thinking with the SRK reference, but in this issue, I was finally able to chart out what my dream closet would look like! All thanks to Tech of course. Also learned about Hatsune Miku, the VIRTUAL Japanese heartthrob.

5.ISSUE #5 (Monday, August 17): Ladies, I have fantastic news! 👠

Via: Silver Lining Of The Week

👉 Discovered these wonder-convertible heels that seemed to exist only in my dreams before Melody Avecilla made it a reality.

Also heard a glossy podcast which talked about beauty commercials & how the “floating head” representation is no longer relevant since each body has layers that must garner attention. PREACH! 👏

6. ISSUE #6 (Monday, August 24): Are you textually active? 💬

Via: The Big Upload

👉 After being bamboozled by this sudden ask for privacy INVASION when random celebs shared their phone numbers online, I realised in Issue #6 that SMS is cool again and it’s pretty badass for marketers’ engagement goals.

Also, how creative is the subject line? 😉

PS: Can’t skip this issue’s tweet coz I know you relate!

7.ISSUE #7 (Thursday, September 03): ☁️ What do I do?!!

Via: Silver Lining Of The Week

👉 This was the week Amazon moved one step closer to Drone Delivery with the FAA go-ahead.

Oh my god, can you imagine? This is the highlight of this issue because I know for a fact that there are no TELLING the sheer LEVELS of procrastination we’re all heading towards with this ASAP delivery system.

8.ISSUE #8 (Thursday, September 10): Fintech & Fashion: It’s all about the money, honey

Via: The Big Upload

👉 This week’s highlight was the insane amount of research I did. Don’t tell my Finance-Specialised sister, but I think I did it cause I missed her too much! The pair of Fintech & Fashion was obvious to me always and I was amazed to see all the progress its made already.

Oh and did you see the kickass Fintech meme I made 😂😂

9.ISSUE #9 (Thursday, September 17): Tik Tok, Tik Tok, Tik Tok, AH! 😱

Via: Silver Lining Of The Week

👉 Apple launched the iOS 14 while I wrote this issue and I was too excited to not mention it. Developers are no longer as free to follow our activity due to a specific need for user permission post the update. Still bittersweet for small businesses, though.

10. ISSUE #10 (Thursday, September 24):

Via: The Shorts Drawer

👉 Please don’t shun me, but I wasn’t aware of Facebook “Reality Labs” before this! Facebook might be launching smart spectacles in 2021 and this week I saw a “demo” of what that might look like! Exciting much?

PLUS, 2020 never fails to disappoint 😂

Thank you all for all the support and encouragement!

I can’t wait to write infinite more editions for infinite more weeks as I learn about infinite advancements and become infinitely better 🔥

And if you haven’t signed up yet, do it here!
