1. Regions news

• Amazon EKS available in Ireland [1].
• Amazon EC2 M5d instances are now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (London) regions [2].
• Amazon EC2 C5d instances are now available in Tokyo and Sydney regions [3].
• Amazon S3 adds support for Amazon Glacier and S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access to Amazon CloudWatch storage metrics in AWS GovCloud (US) region [4].
• Application Auto Scaling now available in AWS GovCloud (US) region [5].
• Amazon ElastiCache for Redis is now FedRAMP authorized and available in AWS GovCloud (US) region [6].

2. Amazon API Gateway adds support for AWS X-Ray [7]

3. Amazon SageMaker now supports TensorFlow 1.10 [8]

5. CloudFormation Macros are generally available [10] 🎉

AWS CloudFormation Macros perform custom processing on CloudFormation templates. CloudFormation Macros use the same technology that powers AWS::Include and AWS::Serverless transforms.

6. New features for S3 Select [11]

New formats are now supported by S3 Select: Apache Parquet, JSON Arrays, and BZIP2 compression for CSV and JSON objects.

Also, S3 Select metrics are now available in CloudWatch.

7. AWS Glue now supports data encryption at rest [12] 🎉

8. Amazon AppStream 2.0 now supports persistent user application settings [13]
