  • AWS Glue is now available in Asia Pacific (Sydney) and EU (Frankfurt) AWS Regions [1].
  • AWS CodeBuild Now Available in South America (São Paulo), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), and Europe (Paris) Regions [2].
  • Amazon AppStream 2.0 is Now Available in the AWS Germany (Frankfurt) Region [3].

2. Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL news

  • Added support of R4 Instance Types in AWS GovCloud (US) [9].
  • Added support of new minor versions 10.3, 9.6.8, 9.5.12, 9.4.17, and 9.3.22 for Commercial Regions [10].

3. AWS CloudFormation Now Supports Launch Templates

Launch templates simplify launch management and give access to the latest EC2 features, including Amazon EC2 T2 Unlimited, in the Auto Scaling groups. Launch templates enable to centrally make changes to launch parameters and control the roll out of those changes to Auto Scaling groups and Spot Fleet [11].

  • All AWS Services are now comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) [13].
  • Maximum session duration for applications and federated users increased to up to 12 hours for an IAM role [14].

6. AWS Fargate Platform Version 1.1.0 is now available

This update adds support for Amazon ECS task metadata endpoints, container health checks, and ECS service discovery [15].

7. Amazon SageMaker news

  • AWS CloudTrail Integration is now available in Amazon SageMaker [16].
  • New features added to the built-in linear learner algorithm: automatic early stopping and saving the best model for Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD); new loss functions added [17].

  1. Azure SQL Data Warehouse is now generally available in all Azure regions worldwide [20]
  2. Deployment Groups is now generally available (Deployment Groups is a robust out-of-the-box multi-machine deployment feature of Release Management in VSTS/TFS) [21]
  3. Multi-dimensional metrics APIs is now generally available in Azure Monitor [22]
  4. Azure Files share snapshot is now generally available

Azure File share snapshots provide a way to make incremental backups of Server Message Block (SMB) shares in Azure Files. Storage administrators can use snapshots directly and backup providers can now leverage this capability to integrate Azure Files backup and restore capabilities into their products [23].
