I got stuck in the Delta outage which you might know if you follow me on social media (links at end of post). I’ve been wanting to share some thoughts on what could have prevented this outage, besides better testing by CrowdStrike, but it took me this long to catch up on work after multiple delays on my last project. I finally submitted a complaint to Delta. From my perspective, the larger incident was completely avoidable. I’d like to explain to any executives who are willing to read this how to prevent a similar disaster at your own organization. And maybe Delta will read it and fix the underlying problems with their scheduling system. I’m sure they are working on it already.
