Yeah, that was us… and it was awesome!

With WPPI 2017 now at a close, it’s time to take a look back at some of the amazing things that happened. We can’t tell you how awesome it was to meet 1,000+ people at our booth! We’re overwhelmed by the support, and we can’t wait to show everyone what’s to come.

One of the coolest things about our booth (besides the 65" curved 4K screen) was the community wall!

We asked photographers to choose 1 of 3 colored circles, and to answer the question on the card. We asked things like “What kind of advice do you have for new photographers,” and “What’s your biggest goal for this year?” Once answered, we pinned the circle to the wall so that everyone could be a part of our booth. All in all, we had nearly 1,000 people stop by the booth to participate, and it was a lot of fun to see the finished product!

On the first night of the convention, we held our 1st annual CloudSpot VIP Terrace Suite Party at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. We rented this incredible wraparound suite which had balconies on two sides of the building. The view from that room is probably the absolute best in Vegas, and our guests enjoyed watching the Bellagio fountains from above.

The initial list of attendees was stopped at 200, quite frankly because we thought only a third of the people would actually show, and we thought we’d have a nice little group of people. After all, we’ve been to many suite parties and hang-outs before, and they’re never crowded. Until now, that is.

Wave after wave of our friends in the community showed up — top photographers in the industry, brand ambassadors, company executives, and just all around great people. And they kept coming. And coming.

So many people came, that we actually got shut down. Hotel security came rolling in and “assisted” guests to the elevators, and then “assisted” us out of the hotel! Do we know how to throw a party or what??

Over the next few days we had some amazing speakers who came to give talks on photography and what inspires them as photographers. Braedon Flynn, Jeremy Chou, David Crewe and Michael Padilla did a fantastic job as always, and many people came to learn from these industry leaders.
