Cloud Computing Weekly Digest: May 13, 2016

Between Uber, OpenStack, Salesforce, Alibaba and the Silicon Valley, we have a lot to talk about today in the cloud. But before we get started, I’d like to discuss a serious issue I’m dealing with: this morning I woke up with Marketing Induced Writer’s Block (MIWB), which resulted from a conversation yesterday with our head of digital marketing. She told me the few weeks I took off blogging in April caused a noticeable drop in our company’s social media performance. This was quite disturbing news to me, since I put social media performance just above physiological requirements on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (e.g. food, water, access to Wifi, a working public cloud account, social media performance, health, love and then acceptance). As a result I couldn’t sleep last night, wondering how I was going to maintain the stats my company needs to survive. I almost complained to our VP of Marketing, but last time I did this she sent me for a timeout to the CTO Corner. So here I am, muscling through my MIWB, giving you my week in review. Let’s get started.
