With the continent’s lower middle-income population projected to grow to 1.17 billion people by 2043, not all consumers will be able to afford smartphones due to high costs. As such, feature phones remain popular for their accessibility in terms of price, but extreme hardware constraints limit the capabilities that they can offer.
