Club Dirty Talk is a not-for-profit dialogue-based search engine for adult content. We advocate for the visibility, education, and research/development of language on sex. Our search engine aids our research on the language developed out of the commodification of pornography and how that has informed verbal stimulation.

Our dataset has been built through using Google’s deep learning transcription models to transcribe hundreds of thousands of videos. Though we are still securing new sites, currently, we have transcribed videos from tube-sites such as PornHub, Naughty America, ForHerTube and XArt.

Like any dataset, we are encountering limitations on the resources we have access to. Because of mind geek’s monopoly over the industry, it is difficult to locate and access thousands of videos from alternative sites. We recognize the bias this creates and are avidly trying to partner with other tube sites to have permission to transcribe their videos. Another hurdle has been the limits of speech-to-text technology and the often faint, jumbled sounds spoken during sex. This has resulted in imperfect transcriptions. However, we have still gathered a strong foundation for short phrases.

Currently, our site is monetized through affiliate linking programs with our select tube sites. As a not-for-profit project, Club Dirty Talk is dedicated to donating to organizations that support survivors of sexual abuse. Every year, we will choose a non-profit organization to fundraise and donate the profit generated from our site.

We think it’s important to funnel our funds to non-profits that are protecting those from sexual violence and advocating for awareness. We believe that practicing the language to talk about sex — whether it be on topics of consent, education or in describing experiences, works against silence. Talking about sex is still largely considered a taboo in both Western and disadvantage countries. This silence encourages fear and shame, it limits what we know, it disables the practice of language around consensual and non-consensual sex. It hinders the communities ability to build the language for healing and to rely on one another for support. How do we honestly build helpful tools to heal when we don’t have a language to discuss what is broken? How can we expect there to be a proper justice system against sexual violence when the same culture of shame umbrellas both the attacker and survivor?

How can organizations or companies that work in pornography support and advocate more directly against sexual violence?

This year, Club Dirty Talk is responding to the call to replenish food supply for CAMELEON Association during the COVID-19 pandemic. Particularly, CAMELEON’s their 3rd Foster House in the Philippines on the island of Negros where the highest rate of cases has been reported. CAMELEON Association is a non-profit, non-government organization that provides protection and rehabilitation services to sexually abused young female-survivors in Western Visayas, Philippines. CAMELEON supports victims of sexual violence through encouraging socio-economic development of affected families and raising awareness on Children’s Rights to local, national and international institutions. Our campaign can be found here.

As we continue to build and study this dataset, we will publish our research on this blog and make it publicly available. Thank you for reading ❤

Club Dirty Talk was created in 2019 and is a not-for-profit project co-founded by Robert Last and Angeline Marie Michael Meitzler.
