Q: Can you provide some background about yourself, including your academic and extracurricular achievements before entering CMKL University?

Before I joined CMKL University, I was deeply involved in the AI and Robotics club back at RIS. Our team often ventured into competitions, and one of our proudest moments was receiving second place in the VEX Robotics Spin Up 2022 competition.

Q: What inspired you to pursue the Artificial Intelligence & Computer Engineering program at CMKL University?

The decision to pursue the Artificial Intelligence & Computer Engineering program at CMKL University stemmed from a lifelong fascination with the field. The practicality and vast potential for growth within technology drew me in.

*Q: What factors influenced your decision to choose CMKL University for your higher education?

CMKL University stood out due to its various industrial and academic partnerships, notably with Carnegie Mellon University. I admired the university’s emphasis on research and hands-on projects from freshman year onwards. This approach resonated with me as it meant diving into real-world work from the get-go.

Q: How has your experience been within the AI & Computer Engineering program at CMKL University?

My experience within the AI & Computer Engineering program has been exhilarating yet challenging. The fast-paced environment keeps me on my toes, but the support from both faculty and fellow friends makes it all worthwhile. The sense of community here is truly heartwarming.

Q: Can you share any projects or courses within the major that you found particularly engaging or challenging?

Let me use this chance to promote my own team project, “Pathsense,” we’re developing an environmental sensing system for visually impaired individuals. Additionally, courses like Immersive Environment, led by a passionate professor like Dr. Miri, have been incredibly engaging and fun to attend.

Q: Since entering CMKL University, have there been any specific achievements or projects related to AI or computer engineering that you are proud of?

“Pathsense” is a project I’m immensely proud of, given its potential to enhance the lives of millions of individuals with visual impairments. This sense of purpose drives much of our work and we hope that one day our project will be able to help people with disabilities.

Q: Is there a sense of community within the AI & Computer Engineering program at CMKL University?

The sense of community within the AI & Computer Engineering program is like a tight-knit family. Forming connections with fellow enthusiasts has nearly been effortless, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. I feel like I have gained new valuable friendships here, that are becoming as important to me as my high school friend is.

Q: As you progress through your AI & Computer Engineering program, what are your aspirations for the future?

Ideally, my goal is to use my education to make a positive impact on humanity. I am not sure if I could reach that ideal or not, but if I could I would try to. On the other hand, I am interested in the business and finance fields, so applying AI knowledge in those industries also greatly appeals to me.

Q: How do you envision applying your education and experiences after graduation?

At the moment, my inclination leans towards pursuing further studies immediately after graduation, possibly into a graduate program. However, considering I’m only a freshman, my aspirations may change over time.

*Q: If you were to recommend CMKL University and the AI & Computer Engineering program to prospective students, what would you highlight?

If I were to recommend CMKL University to prospective students, I’d highlight these three factors:

  1. Real R&D Projects: At CMKL, you’re not just studying theory; you’re immersed in real R&D projects, collaborating with your teams to handle practical issues happening in the real world. This hands-on approach ensures that you’re gaining valuable skills and experience from day one.
  2. Fast-Paced Learning: While fast-paced learning may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I find it incredibly exhilarating. Each day is filled with exciting activities/work that keep you engaged, ensuring that you never feel bored.
  3. Community: Despite not having a large student body, CMKL offers a strong community where friendships shine. The supportive atmosphere ensures that you’re surrounded by friendly faces and friendships, making your university experience all the more enjoyable!
