Semester project soft Crit (10/26 & 10/28)

This past week, we had a soft crit on how our projects are coming along. The class has been working on 10 team projects and for these two crit sessions, the goal was to get teams to start defining a research proposal, that is, a plan for how they’d carry out their research in relation to their topic/problem of focus.

Some key points we would like to remind you would be to narrow down a few ideas and situations before moving forward. Some problems can be too broad and it would help to reassess before continuing on. Many of you have relevant and up to date research methods and this is a great starting point! However, searching for other ways of data gathering will help. As it might be hard, especially during these times, we might get more creative with how we collect our data. Exploring secondary research methods can also help gather more diversity into your studies.

More personalized feedback can be found on the Google sheets document. Also, office hours are available through Calendly teams (look for links on Canvas — top of page!). We’re happy to meet with teams to provide further feedback and clarify questions on scope and methods.
Keep up the good work!
