News about economic data seemed to boost the markets today. The U.S. economy expanded at a faster pace than was originally reported. The nation’s employers also added 50 thousand more private sector jobs than was expected. However, Warren Buffet warned that while the economy may be growing at 3%, it certainly doesn’t feel that way.
Gasoline futures soared nearly 7% after Harvey flooding forced America’s largest oil refinery to close.
The Nasdaq got a boost from biotech stocks such as Gilead Sciences, which rallied for a third straight day.
