Apple earnings: Is the new iPhone coming soon? 📱

Get ready, investors and Apple fans. We could be on track to get another iPhone this September. Apple said during its earnings report this week that it expects to pull in as much as $52 billion in sales after the fourth quarter wraps up next month, sparking rumors that the next iPhone is coming in the fall. There’s already chatter that the new model could include a facial recognition system and no physical home button.

Uh-oh. HBO has been hacked. 💀

Those HBO hacking rumors are true. HBO chairman and CEO Richard Pleple said the company is investigating a hack that has led to “some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming.” Entertainment Weekly reported that an episode of “Ballers” and “Room 104” had been posted online, as well as the alleged script for this Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones.”

Bitcoin splits in two! 💰

There’s a new currency on the block: Bitcoin Cash. On Tuesday, bitcoin split in two in an effort to make the currency more accessible to the masses. But keep in mind: Bitcoin Cash isn’t going to hold the same value as bitcoin. Right now, one Bitcoin is hovering around $2,900 while a unit of Bitcoin Cash is fetching around $280.

Remember the WannaCry ‘hero’? Well, he just got arrested. 💻

Marcus Hutchins is in the spotlight again after he got arrested in Las Vegas for his role in “creating and distributing the Kronos banking Trojan.” Hutchins was heralded as a “hero” after stopping the ransomware attack WannaCry that targeted more than 150 countries in May. He is a U.K. security researcher and the brains behind security blog MalwareTech.
