Having considered the benefits of working in a co-working space, the question now arises which co-working to choose for yourself. With so many co-working spaces out there, it can be quite difficult to find out the one that would be most suitable for your venture. Nonetheless, here are a few tips that shall guide you to the perfect stop.

  1. Location — Location undoubtedly should be the first and foremost thing that you should consider while choosing a co-working space for you. If you are in the services business, you should opt for a location that suits your clients. You would want to leave a good impression on your first meeting with a prospect. However, if most of your work can be done remotely and you prefer to work at someplace quite you should opt for a location that is simply the nearest to where you live.
  2. Inhabitants — While choosing a space, it would be worthwhile checking out the list of tenants that are occupying the space. If you are a freelancer and you are looking for networking, choosing a co-working space that has professionals from various work domains as can open up gates to a lot of opportunities. If your co-working allows you a trial, make sure to meet the tenants and see if you are able to connect with them. Nothing can be better than working in a jovial environment with passionate people.
  3. Ease of commuting — The reason you left your job was perhaps you had to waste too much time commuting to the office. Well the good news, now that you work for yourself, you can get rid of at least that one botheration of your day. Starting your day free from traffic jams or the nagging of public transport can really do wonders to you. Also, if you are planning to hire some staff, a place that is easily commutable is definitely a prime criterion for almost everyone.
  4. Futuristic and Robust — You started on your own and guess what, it turned out to be amazing for you! Sooner than you imagined, you need to bring more people on-board. Having a robust office space that can allow you to expand comfortably can be a good thing to ponder upon. Having to keep shifting your bases very frequently can get a bit annoying.
  5. Amenities — The co-working space should have all major amenities that one expects from his/her workplace. A lot of co-working spaces may commit the moons and the stars, do ask the tenants for their feedback. But keep in mind that a fully equipped workspace will come with a price, so you would not want to disturb the balance there.
  6. Budget — This is a rather important factor. Starting up a new business, there is actually a lot that you need to invest in. You would definitely want to keep the expenses to a bare minimum level. So, choose an appropriate co-working space that fits your budget. Seeing your monthly rent become a liability for you is the last thing that you would want.
  7. Community events — A lot of co-working spaces organise weekly community events, these could include talks from successful entrepreneurs or sportspersons and many of the events also see some influential people and investors as the chairpersons. Look out for such spaces as such events may turn out to be quite useful to get some exposure.
