Welcome to The Journey of My First Book, a series of stories documenting the publication process of my first book.

17 August 2022

Morning. I have a full day ahead of me, so I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to focus on writing today. Nevertheless, I aim to write something, even if it’s just a few hundred words. That way I can make sure that I keep up with the habit and not break the chain. I’m writing this just before a meeting, so I’ll keep it brief.

I didn’t do much reading/researching yesterday as I planned. Simply put, life got in the way. It happens and I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Given that the first draft is close to being finished, I have a bit of leeway.

The extra resources are still on my mind and I’ll hold them there gently with the aim of making a decision on their content and format by the end of next week.

Today I intend to work some more on the first part of the book. Yesterday I added some bullet points under several sections which I’d like to expand on. Then I’ll have to deal with the introduction, which I believe is the hardest part. Let’s go.
