Welcome to The Journey of My First Book, a series of stories documenting the publication process of my first book.

Morning. In chapter two of the book, I urge readers not to go down a rabbit hole of research. Do I follow my own advice? It would appear not.
What you see in the picture above is a collection of books I’ve decided to re-read as part of the research process for writing my book. What you don’t see are the few dozen new books I’ve downloaded on my Kindle for the same purpose. I’m a fast reader, but it still feels overwhelming.
How will I be able to read from these books AND continue to write 2,000 words per day? One option is to write during the day and read in the evening/before bed with a pen in hand to make notes. Another one would be to decide which parts I’m going to write on a particular day and read for one hour on those topics before I start writing. Option three is to research as I write, but I’m afraid it might interrupt my flow.
I’ll have to give all of them a go and see which one (or combination of several) works best. Here I go.
