Letter to My Younger Self on Living Today

Dear Younger Self,

I write to provide guidance, support, love, strength and perspective as you navigate this precious journey called life. You will come to realize that there is truly no precise map or GPS navigation system to travel the infrastructure of life’s transportation system.

Think about it…when we put our notions of fortune, happiness, fame and success aside and get to the core of humanity…it all seems like this constant search and discovery to feel accepted, loved and appreciated.

However, as you will come to experience very soon, we as “wired, baggage carrying human beings” tend to make our one and only opportunity at life more complicated than it needs to be; in the process distracting us from living our most authentic and best lives today filled with intent, meaning and purpose.

I will keep this letter as short as possible because I know you have many devices, applications and tasks battling for your attention. But I want to talk to you about The Power of Now.

If you knew the exact day, hour, minute and second your life would end, how would you manage your existence and energy from that moment forward?

By no means am I trying to create any anxiety within you about your expiration date. It is a fact that not even the most successful, healthiest or wealthiest person on this planet can escape that reality. I bring this question to your awareness, to simply create a mindful consciousness around the power and sacredness of this moment.

There will be times you forget that you are the artist of your own story…so I ask you, why not create the most beautiful masterpiece life that you envision?

You will come to recognize the following two transformative truths on your journey…

1) The only thing that is ever guaranteed is this moment. Immersing yourself in the now comes from being fully present where you are and freeing your consciousness from mental noise.

2) The nature of the human life cycle is that we will all die. That is inevitable. What we can control though is how we will live with the days we have left. I challenge you to do everything in your human nature to not die with your music still inside you.

The sooner you are able to embrace and cherish your 24 hours…1,440 minutes…and 86,400 seconds — living fearlessly and enthusiastically and not merely existing, you will be on your way towards activating a change within — while venturing closer to living and soaring in your most authentic truth.

But enough on dying...I know that question was deep, so when you get a chance to unplug from the constant streams of battery life draining stimulation, reflect on it for a second.

As I watch you navigate the terrains of your life’s journey, you have become heavily influenced by the outside noise of other’s opinions and validation.

Are you still having fun? If not, why not? Strive to get to the core root of what is stopping you, from truly living your best life today.

Your childlike spirit filled with laughter, curiosity, playfulness, big dreams, freedom, smiles, peace, exploration, creativity, love, happiness, optimism and joy is vanishing rapidly and retracting into the mental prison you have constructed.

Nobody has taken these genuine life emotions that you once exhibited on a daily from you. Just like your divine greatness, these emotions are still programmed within you. They have not gone anywhere. But you are not nurturing them. You are giving all of your time and attention to fear rooted habits and thoughts…focusing too much of your energy on yesterday and tomorrow, and not today.

You need to be more patient with yourself and your evolution by trusting the timing of your life. Because what is meant to be, will be.

I never told you the road to mastery was going to be easy. You have bought into the quick fix culture of instant gratification. But if you begin practicing some self-control and shift your time, energy and focus back to the only moment that will ever be guaranteed in your life: right now…the fruits of your labor will start to blossom in unimaginable ways.

So — learn from and let go of yesterday. And live for today by releasing your divine brilliance and beauty everywhere you go.

If tomorrow comes, it comes…but today, right now, in this moment, keep living life to the fullest by celebrating your uniqueness and your story…realizing deeply there is never anything on the other side of fear!

You are Loved, You are Appreciated… and You Matter!

Love Always,

Your Truth Conscience
