Thumos Family on Thumos Fun Day
From Strangers to Family in 80 Days
Thumos is the term as used in the 2017 book, Thumos: Adulthood, Love & Collaboration. We4inPVD, the first Thumos family, however, was not built on the philosophy as defined by the book. Instead, the family was built on the nomenclature Thumoslang which is what remains after the rules were stripped off of the philosophy. This article recounts the events as experienced by members of We4inPVD around their first Thumos Fun Day, which is the 78th day in their 80-day story. Thumoslang is what makes it possible for them to go From Strangers to Family in 80 Days.
[2] The first members of We4inPVD are Jairson Ascencao, Norman D. Baker, Elias Turner aka Tengu, and Nickantony Quach. On the Election Day of 2019 (day 61 of 80), they got together and, as shown in the picture as well as in this video here, signed their first partnership agreement. Each of them was given a chance to include two rules on the things that are the most near and dear to that person. The result are their list of seven core values, which include fairness, purpose, deliberation, concensus, and respect. One of the rules is stated in the following sentence.

[3] Remember, on the first Thursday of September 2019, a few weeks after Jairson turned 20, he was in the tree flirting with a girl when Nick first saw them. Minutes later, the filming began and the flirting continued. At the time, neither Jairson nor Nick could realize that they and a handful of other strangers would, by the last Sunday of November the same year, become an intellectual family. They went from strangers to family in 80 days through the use of Thumoslang as the nomenclature for social life.
[4] On the 80th day, Jairson wrote the following in his journal. The Thumos movement is a growing place of social change. It began in [2015], when a mathematician and a psychology student came in contact with each other and realized that together they could create something life changing for society. They created the Thumos philosophy, a set of principles by which one could truly see the boundaries of their social world, stop lying to themselves, and begin their path towards becoming a Bruce Lee of their field. Some time passed, and Nickanthony, the mathematician, realized that if he tore those rules out of the philosophy, he could unlock the power of language, and give people verbal weaponry to begin unlocking their potential. Soon after the development of [the] Thumos Language, [the YouTube series] Thumoslang101 was created, and Jairson was convinced of the validity of the idea. This spawned [the YouTube series] Thumoslang102, which catalyzed first, Norman, then, Elias, then Alec to join the movement.
