ESSS and ANSYS sponsor the 2019 Aerospace Competitions COBRUF

Registered teams will receive a 12-month license of the full ANSYS software package, courses and other benefits.

ESSS and ANSYS are the newest institutional partners of the COBRUF Association in the promotion of 2019 COBRUF Aerospace Competitions. Free licenses and subsidized ANSYS software courses will be offered to teams duly registered and active in at least one of the competitions. The alliance is an important joint step in democratizing access to state-of-the-art high-tech tools.

The COBRUF Aerospace Competitions (CACs) are the most ambitious ecosystem of today’s space exploration educational competitions and aim to democratize the access of students from Brazil and the world to peaceful space exploration and the Right to Fly Higher. The competition ecosystem receives teams in the areas of experimental sounding rockets, planetary space suits, deep space cubesats, rovers and drones for Mars exploration and AUVs for Ocean Worlds exploration.

In addition to the educational nature, competitions also encourage the development of dual technologies and innovative solutions to the major challenges of the international space industry. The CACs were specifically designed to generate highly qualified human resources for the Brazilian and international technology industry, new business solutions and future NewSpace startups.

Awards

Teams duly registered and active in at least one of the 2019 COBRUF Aerospace Competitions will receive a 12-month license of ANSYS Academic Research software (package to be defined as needed) through ESSS.

In addition, in each cobrufian competition, teams may compete for the COBRUF-ESSS Special Recognition for Applied ANSYS Excellence.

The champions of each 2019 COBRUF Aerospace Competition will be granted a one-year ANSYS Academic Research software license, which is intended for a teacher who is a team tutor, and all members of the champion teams will receive a vacancy EAD type Free Pass.

Requirements

To qualify for the benefits, teams must comply with the competition rules. Another requirement is to promote the COBRUF Association, ESSS and ANSYS as sponsors of its activities, including in all events and competitions in which they participate, and in all technical-scientific works that they publish.

The process of granting licenses and taking courses is done by ESSS and will be exclusively for the teams indicated by COBRUF. After COBRUF indication, the teams will be asked by the ESSS to complete a form and begin the process of granting the license. The 12 months of licence will be counted from the date of sending this form by the team. The benefit is valid for teams from any country where ESSS and ANSYS are able to provide the services.
