Teaser Tales : The Elevator Pitch
Getting your story a second bite at the cherry
Medium is a great place to share your stories, fiction or non-fiction, short, long, serialized, or even a book. But in today’s society, nothing stays in the public consciousness for very long.
Writing a Teaser Tale can help prolong the focus on your story. You’re using a new, fresh story with which you promote your older material, thus bringing it back to the attention of your audience. You may even grab a new audience — here’s hoping!
Keep It short
The word count should be between 151 and 500.
Grab readers
- with a short attention span
- on their coffee break
- wanting a short read.
Keep It Clean
If the story you are promoting has spicy content of a sizzling nature, choose your vocabulary carefully. Using wording that is universally acceptable increases your chance of the piece being boosted and shared.
Keep ‘em on the Hook
Fill your Teaser with tension. When the reader gets to the end they should be asking “And then what?”
