Abolitionist vegans such as myself see these veggie protein products as another peaceful protein option among all the plant-based/vegan foods. These veggie meats are valuable to the economy and the vegan movement because they afford people the choice to eat what they want without harming non-human animals and the environment.
Many people go vegan for ethical and environmental reasons, not because they don’t like taste of seasoned meat. And, the actual definition of meat can have nothing to do with animal muscle. Meat means food. So I, and many other vegans consider veggie meat to be a perfectly acceptable way to eat peacefully and compassionately.
