The website will be built via Wordpress, and a chatbot will be inserted to enhance the user experience. My client is an interior design company calls YUMI SPACE.

Why WordPress?

  1. The most popular CMS in the world.

Usage statistics from W3Techs WordPress is used by 59.5% of all the websites that use a content management system (CMS). The second most used CMS, Joomla has a 5.9% market share. Closely followed by Drupal, with a 4.9% market share and Magento’s 2.8%(Digital.com, 2019). https://digital.com/blog/why-use-wordpress/

2. SEO friendly.

Websites built via WordPress are ranked higher than others on Google, “this is because the CMS’ framework makes it easy for the search engines’ spiders to crawl”(Digital.com, 2019).

3. Plenty of third-party plugins can be used.

There are lots of plugins that allow user sending emails, enhance SEO, chatbots, etc.

In this article, I will record how I set up a WordPress website.

Bought a domain. I bought a choice plan on Bluehost before, unlimited Websites can be created on it, so I do not need to buy the hosting again. The new domain cost $48.94, 2 years Domain Name Registration and Domain Privacy + Protection are included.

I had bought a domain for Godaddy and assigned to Bluehost, however, it took a lot of time to assign it from Godaddy to Bluehost. It is much more complex compare to buying the domain on Bluehost directly, so I bought the domain from Bluehost this time.

After purchased, the new domain will be shown at the “Domains” page but showing “unassigned”.

Domain

Assign Domain. The domain needs to be assigned.

“giftouchandco.com” is the previous domain name I used before
The “unassigned” tag turn to “Addon” now.

Create New Site. Click “My sites” to create a Wordpress website.

After click “Login to Wordpress”, the Wordpress dashboard will be shown.

(I typed the wrong name of the site title, but it can be justified at “Settings” page.)

Import the theme. The website is based on the “Avada” theme, which is popular for business websites. After activated the theme, 2 plugins are required to install, Fusion Core and Fusion Builder.

Import the demos. Choose a demo and install plugins and all content.
