What Life is Like Working at a Startup

Working for a Startup sounds sexy and at the same time worrying.While you may have read about successful startups that took off with huge financial reward, you may have also heard of the enormous amount of startups ended up nothing. While you know you can get a huge sense of achievement as your contribution can directly lead to the Startup’s success, you may at the same time be afraid of taking sole and extensive responsibilities without much guidance.

Pursuing a career in a Startup is like embarking on an adventure — a journey that is exhilarating yet full of uncertainties.

It is definitely not for everyone and it depends highly on what you want and your personality.

I personally truly love the energy in the Startup scene and the strong bond among the team members. We know we are all working towards the same goals. We are ready to jump in if anyone needs help. Yes, it is about “we” instead of “me”. I am enjoying my life working at a Startup I believe in.

So how’s life really like in a Startup? I am sharing my first-hand life experiences working at Cocoon.

Don’t try this at home. Or Office. Or anywhere. This act is really dangerous.

5. Startup is an organized chaos

You can expect your desk is empty at your first day of work. In fact, your desk may not be even there yet.

6. We slack the hell out of everyone

We don’t use email for internal communications. We walk to them. We slack. We call. Fast and simple.
