At the beginning of the year, Facebook once again changed the algorithm which determines what you see in your news feed. You will now see more posts from friends and family, but less from publishers like us.

On average you will see just a handful of the thousands of posts made by the people and pages you follow each day. And these have been pre-selected for you by Facebook’s powerful algorithm. A secret sauce, just for you.

No one outside of Facebook knows exactly how the algorithm works, but what we do know is that with a quick change to its code, it can expand the horizons or narrow the echo chambers of its two billion users around the world.

We want to reach our audience where they are. And for most of you, that’s on Facebook. But like publishers big and small around the world, we are vulnerable to Facebook’s changing algorithm.

That’s why we need your support. Here are three things you can do stay on the story with us.

First, interact with our posts. It so simple, but a quick like, comment or share signals to Facebook that you like what we’re doing, and you’ll be more likely to see Coda’s posts in the future.

Second, go to our page, and under the “following” tab, hit “see first,” and you’ll never miss another post.

And finally, all this month we are running a special promotion on Coda Community membership, to help you get beyond the algorithms. You’ll get an invite to our closed Facebook group where you can chat with Coda staff and contributors and get a sneak peak at what we’ve got coming up next.

Stay on the story with us,
