Moonhack 2021!
The streamers have settled, the computers have cooled, and we’ve done our data analysis for Moonhack 2021!
Over the past 6 years, more than 150,000 kids have coded as part of Moonhack!!

We joined the #PrimarySTEMChat party. Teachers — the amazing Emily Ross saved this wakelet to keep track of all the resources!
Coder Dojo Kinsale (that’s in Ireland!) uploaded our Moonhack projects to their online platform so students could tick through the tasks!
And, Moonhack headed to TikTok! Thanks to our amazing friends at Space Australia, and the legendary Astro Kirsten!

This year we had 24,426 kids participate, 48% of them were girls.
The most popular project was Nature Returns (code it yourself here), with 2000 views on Scratch
Followed very closely by the Dhinawan in the Sky game, created by Tess Reading.
Space Clean Up from 2020 made a big come-back for Moonhack 2021! Still a very popular one!
More than 30 volunteers translated our lessons this year; from Brazil to Myanmar! Big thanks to staff from Atlassian and Telstra, as well as CoderDojo Japan, Get Edu Myanmar, Code Club Luxembourg, Kiri from Code Club Aotearoa, Ali and Nadia from Coder Dojo Iraq, Code Club Brasil, Coder Dojo Czech Republic and many others!
