Wind to Solar, energy production has never been greener than now, Automating these energy systems using IoT can make us more eco-friendly than ever before.

IoT (Internet of Things) is one of the hottest topics right now in modern technology. IoT, as the name suggests, is collection of devices(things) either report, act, or control other devices and are always connected to the internet.

For example, the light is controlled via the Internet through your mobile device or the computer. With internet connectivity, you can control it from anywhere.

Connecting lights to light Sensor can completely automate the lights for the living spaces. It’s appalling to see the lights getting turned ON automatically. But over a period of time, they get more tailored for our needs. It gets so comfortable that we will start noticing switches are not normal anymore.

Imagine how awesome it will be when your home can reduce the power consumption for you, detect water leakage, and even help you by notifying and suggesting a plumber.

IoT and Its importance.

One of the very common questions: IoT, the right choice? Well, I have been working with technologies for quite a long time now. I just had the same question in my mind. But eventually, it became clear that the connected devices require less human intervention which means more efficiency and less room for errors. A large amount of power can be saved when appliances are automated in huge infrastructures like offices, shopping malls, etc.

Check out North America’s Night map below, the question would be, do we need all the lights on all the streets at night, sure there is a concern for security, which can be resolved with the smart network of motion detectors in the street. These motion detectors (not cameras) are just checking for activity and when they detect human activity they just seamlessly turn on lights for you ahead of time and turn them off later, now Imagine the power savings with something like this by just controlling the lights at a continent level.

Innovatively futuristic.

It’s very less likely to generate green energy consistently. The energy disruptions are prominent for green energy sources. In contrast, we can still make them reliable by using IoT. IoT helps by sending all the information to secure storage, from that data a lot can be accomplished. Like knowing the overall energy consumption for a season. Information like this can result in predictable energy consumption, by which green energy can be used to the fullest.

For example, where you connect all your electronic devices in your home to the internet. You plan to go out for a quick errand or a vacation. No need to worry about forgetting to switch off the appliances. You can either switch it off manually through an integrated app or install sensors that will do the work for you.

Additionally harness the power of machine learning, which will give deep insight into your electricity consumption, and help you save some bucks!

The future is green energy, sustainability, renewable energy.

IoT enables key technologies to interact with each other. Which leads to a smarter system. The smarter systems help us to be more considerate towards the environment by decreasing the overall carbon footprint. Which also makes us more friendly to the environment.
